Confined Space Rescue Technician Recertification & Refresh Course
This course is designed to refresh and recertify individuals and teams to meet the NFPA Job Performance Requirements (JPRs) for Confined Space Rescue at the Technician Level.
Course Overview:
Participants will receive comprehensive training on responding to Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) and NON-IDLH confined space rescues. The training will cover essential rope rescue skills for operations in horizontal and vertical spaces, ground-level and elevated vessels, and rescues involving fall protection systems.
Upon completion, students will have met all NFPA 2021 Chapter 7 JPRs for Confined Space Rescue at the Awareness, Operations, and Technician levels.
Certification Testing:
Students will have the opportunity to test out for NFPA 1006 certification through a three-part evaluation process:
- Written Examination – Assessing theoretical knowledge.
- Practical Skills Testing – Demonstrating core rescue techniques.
- Scenario-Based Evaluation – Applying skills in realistic rescue situations.
This course also meets OSHA and NFPA requirements for annual training and rescue team capability evaluations, ensuring that personnel maintain competency and readiness for confined space emergencies.
