We are thrilled to spotlight Tim Robson, the dynamic director of the Tribalco rescue and safety division, overseeing on-site technical rescue teams globally. Tim brings over two decades of unparalleled experience and expertise in technical rescue, safety training, and disaster response.
As Chief Instructor, Tim leads comprehensive training courses worldwide, specializing in confined space, high angle, structural collapse, tactical, trench, and fall protection rescue. His dedication to ensuring the highest safety standards is evident through the meticulous execution of contracts throughout New Mexico, Arizona, and the West Coast by his team of 70+ highly trained rescue technicians.
Tim’s illustrious career includes 22 years as a rescue team manager, rescue squad officer, and safety officer for FEMA’s Department of Homeland Security New Mexico Task Force 1. His invaluable contributions extend to three national deployments for FEMA, notably responding to the Pentagon in the aftermath of 9/11 and providing critical support during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the Gulf Coast.
During the Pentagon deployment, Tim led a rescue squad responsible for victim recovery and debris removal and innovatively developed a new shoring system. This groundbreaking solution has since been incorporated into the Department of Homeland Security and various structural collapse training programs, showcasing Tim’s commitment to advancing rescue techniques and enhancing overall preparedness.
Before joining Tribalco, Tim was a regional manager and chief instructor, spending five years with the Albuquerque Fire Department. In this role, he served as a firefighter. He was a vital member of the department’s Heavy/Technical Rescue Team, specializing in confined space, trench, high angle, vehicle, water, and wilderness rescue.
Tim’s journey began with his enlistment in the Marine Corps in 1986, receiving comprehensive training as a plane captain and combat water survival specialist instructor, rescue swimmer, and rescue diver. Over six years of service, Tim demonstrated exemplary leadership during deployments to various global locations, including Egypt, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, the Mediterranean, and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
His outstanding contributions were recognized with accolades such as “NCO of the Quarter” and numerous commendations for civilian and military search and rescue operations.
